Mohamed Salah Sets UEFA Champions League Record

Mohamed Salah broke a UEFA Champions League record on Tuesday, September 28th, 2021 in Liverpool's game against Porto in Portugal. The Egyptian was on 29 Champions League goals before the game but found the net twice to become the second-highest African goal scorer.

Salah has scored in each of his last six appearances for Liverpool in all competitions. He is the first player to score in six consecutive games since 2018. He was the last player to set the record in 2018 when he scored in seven consecutive games. Salah is behind Didier Drogba on the list who scored 44 goals while Samuel Eto'o is on 30 goals.

Mane also made history for the Merseyside team, as he joined the list of players in Liverpool's history to score 20 or more Champions League goals for the Reds. Salah tops the lead with 28 goals, Steven Gerrard with 21 goals, and the Senegalese with 20 goals.
