Wizkid and Tems' Essence Makes Debut on Billboard Global 200 Chart

Nigerian superstar singers, Wizkid and Tems' global hit, Essence has made yet another Billboard appearance, debuting at no. 159 on the Global 200 Chart.

Billboard announced the appearance of Wizkid and Tems' Essence on the Global 200 chart via their website on Thursday, the 22nd of July 2021. South Korean pop band, BTS top the Global 200 list for the week ending July 24th.

Wizkid and Tems' appearance on the Global 200 with Essence makes them the second and thirds Nigeria artists to achieve this respectively. Burna Boy's collaboration with Justin Bieber, Loved By You peaked at no. 51 on the Global 200 chart this year. In 2020, his collaboration with Master KG on Jerusalema peaked at no. 38.

Essence appearing on the Billboard Global 200 Chart means yet another feather in the hats of the singers, Wizkid and Tems. The song which is housed on Big Wiz' Made in Lagos album has broken countless records since the turn of the year. On Billboard especially, Essence debuted at No. 82 two weeks ago on the Hot 100 Chart, then shooting up ten spots to no. 72 just the following week. It was also named on Billboard's list of 50 best songs released so far this year.
