Pirated versions of Zlatan's clothing line flood Aba market
Just days after the launch of Nigerian singer, Zlatan Ibile's clothing line, 'Zanku To The World, ZTTW,' pirated versions have reportedly flooded the biggest fashion market in Aba, sparking a wave of reactions on social media.
The singer's fashion line, ZTTW, was recently unveiled in a glamorous event attended by celebrities such as Davido, Ruger, Skiibii, Peruzzi, Yhemolee, Mercy Eke, Odunlade Adekola, and many others. However, barely days after the launch, videos emerged showing bulk productions of pirated versions of the outfits being sold in Aba market.
In a viral video shared on social media on Sunday, May 26, 2024, all variations of the ZTTW clothing line were seen recreated in large quantities and already available for sale at the market. The proliferation of pirated copies has drawn criticism from many who believe it is unfair to undermine Zlatan Ibile's business in this manner.
The incident highlights the challenge of intellectual property rights in Nigeria's fashion industry, where piracy remains a significant concern for designers and brands. Zlatan Ibile has not publicly commented on the issue.
