Nigerian singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist, Harrison Tare Okiri, widely recognized as Harrysong, has reached out to fans, colleagues, and the public, seeking support in a financial dispute with his former colleague and boss, Kingsley Okonkwo, popularly known as Kcee.
Making the appeal on his Instagram story on Sunday, December 17, Harrysong highlights the heart of the matter, centered on allegations that his songs have been withheld for an extended period, with Kcee being the alleged controller of these musical assets.
According to Harrysong, for over seven years, Kcee has allegedly been collecting 100 percent of the royalties generated from hit tracks such as "Reggae Blues," "Baba for the Girls," "Samankwe," "Better Pikin," and "Ofeshe" – all of which have been pivotal to the artist's successful career.
In an emotional post, Harrysong expresses deep concern about the unfair distribution of earnings and emphasizes that it is high time for him to receive his rightful share.
Expressing frustration, Harrysong claims to have initially approached the matter with humility and appeals, to no avail.
