Serbian-Based Company Takes over Southampton Football Club

Southampton Football Club have confirmed the club's takeover by a Serbian-based cable television for 100 million pounds.

The announcement was made official on Tuesday, January 4th, 2022, on Southampton's official website. According to reports from the Saints, the deal will see Sport Republic, a London-based investment firm in the sports and entertainment industry has acquired a controlling stake in the club.

Sport Republic is an investment firm in the sports and entertainment industry. They have purchased the shareholding of the club held by Mr Gao and will work in partnership with Katharina Liebher, who retains her minority shareholding.
