Another Premier League club set to open talks with Marcus Rashford

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly preparing to open talks with Marcus Rashford over a potential summer move, as the North London club explores attacking reinforcements ahead of the new season.

There are reports that Spurs are interested in taking advantage of the uncertainty surrounding Rashford's future at Manchester United. However, Tottenham are believed to be reluctant to trigger Rashford's reported £40 million release clause.

The North London club is expected to negotiate a lower transfer fee, with Manchester United open to listening to offers as they continue reshaping their squad this summer. Despite Spurs' interest, Rashford's preferred destination is reportedly a move abroad after the end of his loan spell, with a return to FC Barcelona remaining his priority if a deal can be agreed.

This could make Tottenham's pursuit difficult, even if formal discussions begin. However if they can pull this deal through signing a player of Rashford's experience and quality would represent a major statement of intent.

The England international would add pace, versatility and proven Premier League pedigree to their attack, but any transfer is expected to depend on the financial terms and, crucially, the player's willingness to make the move.
