Simi and Candy Bleakz set to release 'Wale' remix

An exciting collaboration is on the horizon as Simi and Candy Bleakz join forces to release the remix of the hit track Wale.

Pictures began circulating yesterday of Simi and Candy Bleakz on a music set. Candy Bleakz then announced and shared a snippet of the two artists remixing her hit single 'Wale'. The Chocolate City signee released the hit track in April 2023. Via social media, Candy Bleakz said "I did this one with my sister Dragon x @symplysimi. Wale Remix this Friday 26-01-24 #Candy24 #WaleRemix". The music video is scheduled for 26th January 2024.

Street pop singer and rapper, Akiode Blessing Mariam also known her Candy Bleakz started as a member of the now defunct indigenous Yoruba Hip Hop group, Street Billionaires where she was also the only female member. Her hit single 'Tikuku' earned her a spot as the first and only female artist to grace the first issue of the Turntable "Street Pop Singles" chart. She also got featured on Google's International Women's Day campaign and their WNBA Women's Month campaign.

Simi recently released the music video for 'Look What You Made Me Do' with her husband Adekunle Gold. This release of the music video was to celebrate their fifth anniversary. The depth of their connection is portrayed through the intimacy captured in the visuals, showcasing the undeniable chemistry between the two.

In addition to celebrating their anniversary, Adekunle Gold was featured on the latest NBA 2K24 ‘2K Beats’ soundtrack. The soundtrack was curated by rapper J. Cole and features a mix of established and up-and-coming artists. Yemi Alade and Adekunle Gold were featured on the soundtrack for Jeymes Samuel's film 'Book of Clarence'.
