Rudeboy mourns the passing of Nollywood icon, Mr Ibu

The Nollywood community and fans alike were left reeling by the news of the passing of esteemed actor, John Okafor, famously known as Mr Ibu, on Saturday, March 2, 2024.

As tributes pour in, veteran singer, Rudeboy, formerly of the Psquare band, has expressed his deep sorrow over the loss.

Having been present during Mr Ibu's illness and spending several weeks by his side in the hospital, Rudeboy shared his profound sadness at the actor's passing. He took to social media to express his emotions, questioning why despite his efforts, Mr Ibu still departed.

In a poignant message, Rudeboy lamented the unpredictability and fragility of life, stating, “I slept in the hospital with you for several weeks just to be there with you and all .. and you still left. God why?? #mribu. Aswear forget !!! Nothing dey for this life.”
