Nigerian singer, Paul Okoye, one half of the defunct Psquare group, has vehemently refuted claims made by veteran Nigerian rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem, regarding a purported altercation at a 2004 concert.

Abdulkareem had alleged that Nigerian artists, including Psquare, were mistreated at the event, which allegedly featured American rapper, 50 Cent.

Paul Okoye (Rudeboy), in response to Abdulkareem's assertions on an Instagram live session posted on NotjustOk Instagram page on Thursday, February 22, 2024, categorically denied Psquare's involvement in the said concert. Speaking out against Abdulkareem's claims, Okoye accused the rapper of fabricating stories, asserting that Psquare had not been among the artists invited to perform at the event in question.

In his video addressing the controversy, Okoye launched a scathing verbal attack on Abdulkareem, questioning the veracity of his statements and expressing disbelief that the veteran rapper would implicate Psquare in his narrative.

Okoye further disparaged Abdulkareem's character, making reference to the rapper's past health struggles, including a kidney transplant, and suggesting that the treatment Abdulkareem allegedly received at the concert should have been more severe.

Asserting Psquare's innocence in the matter, Okoye emphasized the youthfulness of the duo at the time of the alleged incident, while also lauding emerging artists for their resilience in navigating the music industry independently.

The controversy surrounding Abdulkareem's claims and Okoye's response has sparked considerable debate within the Nigerian music community, with fans and industry insiders weighing in on the matter. As conflicting accounts continue to surface, the incident shows the complexities and rivalries within Nigeria's vibrant music scene.
