Davido shares release date for new collab with Angelique Kidjo 'Joy'
The Afrobeats star continues his feature run in the year 2024.
Nigerian ace singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has announced his upcoming collaboration with the iconic Beninese-French singer-songwriter Angelique Kidjo.
The 30BG frontman, who hasn't dropped a single since he released his fourth studio album Timeless in March 2023, has been on a feature run since then, bagging four features already this year, including crowd favourites like Twe Twe (Rmx) with Kizz Daniel and Ogechi (Rmx) with Boypee, Hyce, and Brown Joel.
After collaborating on the Timeless album with Kidjo on Na Money, alongside the highlife duo The Cavemen, Davido and Kidjo have deemed it fit to thrill their fans with another collaboration, titled "Joy," produced by ace music producer and Davido's long-time friend Shizzi.
Taking to social media on Monday, August 26th, 2024, both parties announced the single, with a release date of Friday, August 30th, 2024. According to them, the song "Joy" is a special record that means something special to them. Davido wrote:

Emphasising how joyful the collaboration is for her, Angelique Kidjo, via her Instagram page wrote:

The song promises to be another thrilling collaboration, blending Davido's Afrobeats prowess with Kidjo's traditional world music feel just like their previous song.
