Speaking in an interview that surfaced online on Monday, March 25, 2024, the artist, born David Adedeji Adeleke, disclosed that he had a recording studio concealed within his family home, unknown to his father, Adedeji Adeleke.

Despite being situated in the same house as his father, Davido managed to keep the studio hidden due to the expansive nature of their residence, boasting over 20 rooms. He attributed his ability to maintain secrecy to his father's routine of retiring straight to his room after work, unaware of the musical endeavors happening under the same roof.

Reflecting on his journey to musical stardom, Davido shared insights into his academic pursuits, revealing that he initially moved to the United States for college. Transitioning from a school in Tennessee to one in Alabama, he encountered resistance from his father who aimed to deter him from attending school in Atlanta, where he was born.

However, despite his father's intentions, Davido found himself immersed in a vibrant musical environment at his Alabama school. As the growing music scene in Nigeria began to gain momentum, Davido felt the pull to return home, ultimately deciding to leave school to pursue his musical aspirations.

The Timeless crooner highlighted the irresistible allure of Nigeria's music industry, emphasizing the need to be a part of its thriving success. Davido's candid revelations shed light on the complex journey that led him to become one of Africa's most influential musical icons.
