  1. Early Life And Childhood.

CHERRY's journey into the world of music began at the tender age of five, belting out notes with the choir at her local church in the picturesque region of Kilimanjaro.

It's almost as if the music was in her DNA, as she moved to the bustling city of Dar es Salaam in 2009 and enrolled in Mbezi High School, where she graduated with flying colours in 2018.

2. Bongo Star Search Breakthrough

In 2020, CHERRY rose to fame as a top ten finalist on the eleventh season of Bongo Star Search. Her incredible voice and stage presence captivated audiences and judges like Madam Ritha and Master Jay.

She quickly became a fan favorite, and her journey on the show marked the beginning of her rise to fame.

3. Signing to BXTRA Records

A few months after her breakthrough on Bongo Star Search, CHERRY signed with BXTRA Records.

Led by the celebrated Tanzanian producer, Hermy B, B Extra (formerly known as B Hits) for a long time now has acted as one of the biggest music powerhouses in Tanzania which scouted and nurtured talents of different heavyweights like Vanessa Mdee, Mabeste and the bilingual rapper, Gosby.

4. Venturing Into Music

Cherry rolled her gloves in the Tanzanian music industry with Ole. One month later as young as she is, she made history after getting a chance to create the EP soundtrack for "Love Transfusion Film".

The movie was Multichoice Production Project and it premiered exclusively on DSTV. In the 4 track EP, Cherry made her sound, feel like a breath of fresh air in the oversaturated market of Bongo Fleva.

5. Musical Influences

CHERRY's musical influences are diverse and include American singer Beyoncé, Lady Jaydee, and Rihanna. She has also stated that the Grammy winner, Tems, as a major influence on her music. These artists have all played a role in shaping CHERRY's unique sound, which blends elements of R&B and Afrobeats.
