The 10 Hottest Tanzanian Artists of 2020
We can all agree that 2020 has been a tough year however our Tanzanian artists have made it worth the while all factors considered. Here are the top 10 tanzanian artists who have tremendously risen to the occasion and made our year a little more bearable.
1. Zuchu
2020 has easily been Zuchu's year. After only 8 months in the music game, she has quickly risen to become the queen of Bongo Flava. The Wasafi signed singer won over the hearts of many with her sweeping harmonies on her debut EP, I Am Zuchu , major collaborations such as Cheche and Litawachoma alongside Diamond Platnumz, Number One with Rayvanny and Nobody featuring Nigeria's Joeboy which have all quickly topped Tanzanian charts. Zuchu has also gained massive international recognition which led her to receive a Grammy consideration as well as the opportunity to represent East Africa in the BET Soul Train Awards.
2. Diamond Platnumz
Diamond Platnumz continues to assert himself as the king of East African music. The WCB CEO has released a number of chart topping hits this year as well as notable collaborations including his record breaking hit, Waah! with Koffi Olomide and Wasted Energy with Alicia Keys which saw him break international boundaries. Aside from releasing major hits, Diamond also earned himself a Grammy consideration earlier in the year as well as in invite to the Grammy Recording Academy.
3. Rayvanny
The beginning of 2020 saw Rayvanny drop a valentine's special, Flowers EP which was well received by the masses. The charismatic singer went ahead to release Amaboko alongside Diamond Platnumz which quickly became an international hit. Rayvanny has proven to be a versatile artist this year with hits such as Miss Buza featuring Singeli artist, Dulla Makabila and Cuppy's Jollof on the Jet which featured Rema.

4.Nandy
2020 has been the year of notable collaborations from the African Princess. Nandy has earned her respect in the Bongo Flava scene and has continued to secure her spot at the top by joining forces with legendary names such as Harmonize on Acha Lizame, Billnass on Do Me and most recently Ali Kiba on Nibakishie.
5. Harmonize
The Konde Music Worldwide CEO started this year with the debut of the Afro East album which quickly sky rocketed. Harmonize has seen many wins this year including signing major artists such as Ibraah and Young Skales to his record label. He finishes the year strongly with his successful single, Ushamba.
6. Ali Kiba
Ali Kiba continues to raise his flag high as one of Tanzania's greatest. This year saw Ali Kiba come through with a number of major hits this year including Dodo, So Hot and Mediocre which have all done big numbers on the charts.
7. Ibraah
Since his debut in April this year, Ibraah has put his stamp as one to be watched in the East African scene. One Night Stand which featured label head, Harmonize topped charts for weeks, a good entry for the young talent. We saw Ibraah define himself as an artist on his first ever EP Steps with hits such as Nitachelewa and Wandoto and Subira on which he joined forces with Nigeria's Skiibii.
8. Mbosso
Mbosso has had a year of consistent hits earning him a spot in our Top 10. The singer released a number of heartfelt singles including Sina Nyota and Tamba and Haijakaa Sawa. The WCB singer now finishes off the year with his well received single Fall where we get to see the bad boy that secretly lives inside the sensitive soul.
9. Navy Kenzo
This dynamic duo have proven themselves as a force to be reckoned with this year. The release of their sophomore album, The Story of The African Mob has seen the pair flying high. The album greatly celebrates African culture and the eccentric stories of African people with notable collaborations from Nandy, Mzvee, Genius Genie, Tiggs da Arthur, King Promise, The Great Eddy and Mugeez.
10. Rosa Ree
Rosa Ree continues to reign as Tanzania's top female rapper. The Goddess has had a phenomenal year laying out stupendous bars on tracks like Sukuma Ndinga , Kupoa and Balenciaga. She then showed us her soft side when she released Kanyor Aleng' which she dedicated to all the mothers.
