I know you must be surprised we are starting with a song that wouldn't catch your attention by merely looking at the tracklist of “The Prodigal” album by Mr P. I mean an album that has top Nigerian acts like Tiwa Savage, Simi, Teni and Wande Coal would easily pass as one to eventually turn out to be a classic and that's what Mr P delivered on this tune. He was passing across a message to his haters and what better way to get the attention of your haters than saying “Eh Lo” and in turn making them dance to your sound.
After living life in a rush, Bella Shmurda decides to reflect and ponder about the current happenings in the world. He takes a conscious stand by declaring “he can lie to the world but he can never lie to himself”. Bella Shmurda goes further by preaching about the ills of the current “World”.
Award-winning Ghanaian musician, Shatta Wale serves us this impressive tune title “We Taya” produced by Beatz Vampire. It's a pretty cool song rendered in his native tongue.
Have you been to any party in the Southeast of late? Or boarded a commercial vehicle to travel by road to the southeast? Then you must be very familiar with the sound of the high life duo of Umu Obiligbo. Anyways, I'm inviting you to the scene of “Enjoyment” created by the twin brothers.
Veteran Nigerian singer, Kcee and Okwesili Eze Group link up to deliver rebranded popular indigenous tunes on the recently released “Cultural Praise” album. The album takes a u-turn from Kcee’s usual delivery of club banging hits like “Limpopo” and, “Pull Over” featuring Wizkid.
Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy is here with his rendition of the Victory Rock Riddim, a project hosted by Kabaka Pyramid. The music as act delivers on “Strength and Hope”.
Nigerian singer, Tay Iwar renders this soulful tune dubbed ‘Peaking’ off his forthcoming ‘Love & Isolation’ EP. This could pass as the perfect lovemaking jam.
Nigerian music producer, Wizzy Pro pops out of his comfort zone and delivers vocally on this Juwhiz-produced song. A proper feel-good song with some speaker rattling elements of Amapiano.
And there you have it for this week...
