AFCON 2025: Ademola Lookman reportedly poised for a Premier League transfer

Fresh reports have emerged indicating that Ademola Lookman might be making a transfer to the Premier League following AFCON 2025 heroics.

Following his brilliance at AFCON 2025, Ademola Lookman is reportedly poised to make a return to the Premier League in the January 2026 transfer window.

In a desperate bid to save their Premier League status, West Ham United have reportedly pulled the trigger on a sensational move for Atalanta superstar Ademola Lookman.

With the Hammers currently languishing in 18th place, five points adrift of safety, manager Nuno Espírito Santo has identified the Nigerian international as the "X-factor" needed to ignite a stagnant attack and pull the East London club out of the drop zone.

Lookman, recently hailed as "one of the best in the world" following his historic Europa League exploits and Ballon d'Or nods, is at the very top of Nuno’s January wishlist. According to Topskills Sports, the Hammers have officially opened dialogue with Lookman’s camp to discuss a potential return to the English capital.

The timing couldn't be more dramatic. Lookman arrives back from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with a bronze medal around his neck, having just smashed home the decisive penalty in Nigeria’s shootout victory over Egypt in Saturday’s third-place play-off.

The stats for West Ham are grim. Despite the summer arrivals of Pablo and Taty Castellanos, the Irons have managed a meager 24 goals in 22 matches. Combined with the league’s most porous defense (44 goals conceded), Nuno knows he needs a game-changer.
