Pep Guardiola Leads Manchester City to Historic Treble

The manager of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola has led the Cityzens to win a treble for the first time in the club's history and also to their first UEFA Champions League title.

City came into the final against Inter Milan as Premier League and FA Champions having beaten Arsenal and Manchester United to win the competition respectively. The only goal of the game was scored by Rodri in the second half of the game.

Guardiola won the treble for the second time in his managerial career, while he's the first ever manager to do so with two different clubs (Barcelona in 2008-09 and Manchester City in 2022-23). City has scored 100+ goals more than they've conceded in three of the last five seasons (18-19, 21-22, 22-23) before Pep Guardiola’s arrival, no English top-flight side had ever scored more than 100 goals.

Manchester City has become the sixth English team to win the European Cup/UEFA Champions League, after Aston Villa, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Nottingham Forest – twice as many sides than any other nation (3 – Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands.

The final against Inter Milan is Guardiola’s fourth UEFA Champions League final as a coach (two with Barcelona in 2009 and 2011, two with Man City in 2021 and 2023), with only Carlo Ancelotti having managed in more (5).
