Thomas Tuchel Rules out Chelsea's Duo Ahead of City Clash
Chelsea's manager, Thomas Tuchel has ruled out the duo of Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic from the game against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge. The German will hope their absence does not affect the performance of his team.
Mirror football confirmed the news on its website on Friday, September 24th, 2021. Tuchel was speaking ahead of the early kick-off Premier League game.
Pulisic has played just a game for the Blues this season before testing positive to Covid-19 during in international break. The American is yet to return to the London side.
Christian Pulisic is still out. For Mason Mount, it's too soon. He has a little minor injury from the Aston Villa game. He made huge progress, but tomorrow is too soon.
He is very disappointed, and I didn't feel it during the Villa match, beside it was the second half and he played through the injury. He finished the game. He was even confident enough to take a penalty. So it was a surprise. The steps he is taking are huge. Maybe he could've played if the game was one day later.
So it's a minor injury but there is disappointing because he's a player we rely on but the task is to find solutions now and to bring him back as soon as possible.
Chelsea have beaten Manchester City in all the three-time they have met under Tuchel. The Blues won the FA Cup Semi-final, a league game at the Etihad Stadium, and the UEFA Champions League final.
