Steven Gerrard returns to coaching months after Aston Villa's sack
Liverpool's legend Steven Gerrard has returned to coaching just months after he was sacked by Aston Villa.
The Englishman was appointed manager of Al Ettifaq in the Saudi Arabia professional football league. Steven Gerrard had earlier debunked the rumour that linked him to the club.
Al Ettifaq confirmed the appointment of Gerrard on its official Twitter account on Monday, July 3, 2023. He is one of the high-profile names in the Premier League that has made a move to Saudi Arabia.
There are reports that they will sign Wilfried Zaha who is currently a free agent. Other notable names that have joined the Saudi Pro League from the English Premier League are the Chelsea trio of Kalidou Koulibaly, Edouard Mendy and N'Golo Kante.
