History of the Club

The former owner, Flavio Becca bought Excelsior Virton in 2019 with the sole aim of ensuring that the club does not go down the drain. He was able to keep the club afloat by sport and financially and then promoted it to Division 1B (professional football), for the first time in its history. The club will participate in Belgian National Division 1 when the 2023/24 season kicks off following its relegation from Challenger Pro League in 2022/23.
