Raphael Benitez Sends Farewell Message to Everton Fans | Read
Former Everton's manager, Rafael Benitez has spoken for the first time following the termination of his contract by the Merseyside club.

Benitez was sacked just after six months of being in charge at the club, he was appointed manager of the club in June 2022.
We knew it would not be easy, and that it was a big challenge both emotionally and in terms of sport. My love for ths city, for Merseyside and it's people, made me accept this challenge, but it is only when you are inside that you realise the magnitude of the task. From the very first day, my staff and myself worked as we always do, with commitment and and full dedication, we did not only have to get results, but we had to win over people's hearts. However, the financial situation and then the injuries that followed made things even harder. My love for this city, for Merseyside and it's people, made me accept this challenge, but it is only when you are inside that you realise the magnitude of the task. Everton are placed 16th on the Premier League after playing 19 games. Benitez won 9 games out of the last 12 games he took charge of at the club.
