Manchester United were coming into the game off reports in the media that there was a bit of disunity among the United players in the dressing room. Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire fend off the news on their official Twitter accounts.

Rangnick was speaking after the game in a post-match conference with Sky Sports News. According to him, the result was the best way to respond to the news which has been making the headline for the past week.

It was perfect with regard to maturity, unity and the best reply that they could give to some articles last week that there was some disruption in the locker room. I think a game like this one today ( Sunday) you can only win as a team, with the mentality of the team, and this is what we want. Apart from the 3 points, that is the most important thing for me.

Harry Maguire opened the scoring in the first half before Bruno Fernandes made it 2-0 before the end of the first half. Leeds United scored two goals in less than two minutes from Rodrigo and Raphinha.

Goals from Fred and Elanga ensured the Red Devils returned to Old Trafford with their goals. Manchester United play Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 fixture on Wednesday, February 23rd, 2022.
