Pep Guardiola sets a new record in Europe

The manager of Manchester City Football Club, Pep Guardiola has written his name in the history books of football.

The Spaniard led Manchester City to win the 2023 UEFA Super Cup against Sevilla on penalty shootouts on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. City won the game 5-4 on penalties after playing 1-1 in regulation time.

Pep Guardiola became the first manager in the history of football to win the UEFA Super Cup with three different clubs. He won the trophy while he was in charge of Barcelona (twice), Bayern Munich, and now Manchester City.

He also became the second manager after Real Madrid's manager, Carlo Ancelotti, to win the tournament four times. This is Guardiola's 15th trophy since he became the manager of the Etihad club.
