Olivier Giroud Reveals how He Joined Arsenal Football Club
Former Arsenal forward player, Olivier Giroud has revealed how he got to sign for the North London club.
The French player was speaking in an interview which was reported by RMC Sports on Wednesday, September 14th, 2022. According to Giroud, the manager of the Gunners who was, Arsene Wenger, approached him for a move to the Premier League.
Arsène (Wenger) came to pick me up in France. He gave me the opportunity to realize a childhood dream which was to play in the Premier League and follow in the footsteps of all the French people who have passed through there. Having had the chance to be in contact with Arsène it was… I had stars in my eyes.
He confirmed that the contract was brought to him by his wife as a surprise which he described as one of the best days of his life.
My wife brought me the contract in Ukraine during the Euro. She said to me ‘here I have a present for you. It was one of the best days of my life.
Giroud stayed with the Gunners for six years before moving to join Chelsea Football Club where he won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup. He now plays his football in Italy with Serie A side, AC Milan.
