Check out the nominees for 2022/23 UEFA Men’s Player of the Year award
Three players have been nominated for the UEFA's Best Player award of the just concluded football year (2022/23).
The top three nominees were then voted for by a jury composed of the coaches of the clubs that played in the group stages of the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and UEFA Europa Conference League, together with the coaches of the men's national teams of UEFA's member associations.
Who are the nominees?
Erling Haaland
Manchester City's record-breaking striker Erling Haaland is one of the top three nominees for the 2022/23 UEFA Men's Player of the Year award.
The Norwegian became the youngest and quickest player to make it to 35 Champions League goals in total. He was a key part in helping City winning the winners UCL medal alongside the Premier League, FA Cup and the UEFA Super Cup.

Former Paris forward player, Lionel Messi is one of the top three nominees for the 2022/23 UEFA Men's Player of the Year award. The Argentine helped the Parisian club win the ligue1 title and he also was key in winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
He became the first Argentinian to lift the World Cup since Diego Maradona, scoring seven goals in the process as he was awarded the Golden Ball for best overall player at the finals.
Kevin De Bruyne
The 32-year-old is not new to been nominated for the award, he was a maestro in the midfield by helping City win a remarkable treble as the club secured its first Champions League triumph alongside their domestic double.
When is the award ceremony?
The winner of the award will be announced on the same day as the UEFA Champions League group stage draw ceremony, which will take place on Thursday 31 August, 2023, at the Grimaldi Forin in Monaco.
