#MUNLEE: Manchester United Thrash Leeds at Old Trafford

The game between Manchester United and Leeds United was the first game of both sides in the 2021/22 Premier League season. The unveiling of Rafael Varane was a side attraction of the game for the Old Trafford fans.

Fernandes and Pogba

Manchester United hit the ground immediately against Marcelo Bielsa's men as they created so many chances but could not find a breakthrough in the game. The first chance of the match came from Paul Pogba, but the French man could not find the back of the net.

Bruno Fernandes sent the fans on their feet in the 30th minute of the game when he connected from a pass from Pogba. The ball from Fernandes went past Illan Musler in goal. United created more chances but the first half ended 1-0 in favor of the home side.

Leeds came out with more purpose in the second half as they got the equalizer on the 48th minute from Ayling, who fired a shot from 25 yards to the top of the corner, to score his first Premier League goal.

The visitors' lead did not last for long after Mason Greenwood connected from a pass from Pogba in the 51st minute. It went from bad to worse for the visitors as Fernandes got himself 2 more goals. Fred also found himself on the score sheet.

Paul Pogba getting himself four assists in the game, making him the first Manchester United player to achieve such a feat. The game ended 5-1 in favor of Manchester United.
