Mikel Arteta gives update on Thomas Partey's future at Arsenal

The future of Thomas Partey has been in doubt in recent weeks as he is been linked with a possible move to Saudi Arabia.

The manager of the club, Mikel Arteta has cleared the air concerning the future of the Ghanaian international at Arsenal. Arteta confirmed that Thomas Partey is still a key part of his plan going into the 2023/24 season while speaking at the team's pre-match conference in the United States against Manchester United.

"Part of my plans? Of course, without a question of a doubt. Thomas is a super important player for us and me. I want him to be part of the team. I expect Thomas Partey to stay here. Every time I spoke to him and had a conversation with him he’s ready to stay with us. For me, there’s nothing there at all."

Arteta will hope the club can keep the midfielder going into the new season because they need a squad depth as they will be competing in the UEFA Champions League.
