Manchester United are set to announce Ralf Rangnick as its interim manager in the coming days.

Transfer News expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on its official Twitter account on Monday, November 29th, 2021. According to the tweet, he will sign a six-month contract with the Red Devils, which will keep him as the club's manager until June 2022.

He has also agreed to be in charge of the club's consultancy role until June 2024. He will also influence the decision of the next manager that will be appointed at Old Trafford.

The managerial job at the club became vacant on Sunday, November 21st, 2021 when the board at Manchester United sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following the poor run of results in the Premier League.

Rangnick will come to the Premier League with experience following his time in the Bundesliga having coached Hannover 96, Schalke 04, Hoffenheim, and RB Leipzig. He also served as director of football RB Leipzig from 2012.

He was also responsible for Leipzig's promotion to the Bundesliga, taking the club from the regional league to the fourth tier than to the Bundesliga.

Michael Carrick has been in charge of the club in the past week, winning his Champions League game against Villarreal and securing a point at the home of league leaders, Chelsea, in the Premier League.
