Manchester United Reveal Cristiano Ronaldo's Jersey Number

Manchester United had confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo will wear his favorite Number 7 jersey on his return to Old Trafford. Uruguay's Edinson Cavani previously wore the jersey. He recently wore it against Wolves in the club's last Premier League game.

Cavani will wear jersey number 21, the same number he wears for the Uruguayan national team. Manchester United confirmed this on its website on Thursday, September 2nd, 2021.

The number 7 jersey is an iconic number of Old Trafford and the club's legends have worn it in the past. George Best, Bryan Robson, Eric Cantona and David Beckham have all worn the jersey in the past.

Ronaldo wore the number 7 jersey during his first spell at Old Trafford between 2003 and 2009. He scored 118 goals in 229 appearances for the Red Devils winning nine trophies, including three Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League.
