Manchester United Football Club have released another update on the current situation of its first-team player, Antony.

The club confirmed on its official website on Friday, September 29, 2023, that the Brazilian international is back in training and will be available for selection. According to the statement, the club will continue to keep the case under review ss the UK Police continue investigation.

"Since allegations were first made in June, Antony has co-operated with police inquiries in both Brazil and the UK, and he continues to do so. As Antony’s employer, Manchester United has decided that he will resume training at Carrington, and be available for selection, while police inquiries proceed. This will be kept under review pending further developments in the case. As a club, we condemn acts of violence and abuse. We recognise the importance of safeguarding all those involved in this situation, and acknowledge the impact these allegations have on survivors of abuse."

The player was accused by his ex-girlfriend of physical abuse and sexual assault while the pair were in a relationship. However, Antony has always insisted on his innocence about the situation.

Manchester United had initially suspended the player from every club-related activity pending when the police were done with the case. Although he is still being suspended from the national team by the Brazilian FA.

This decision is a piece of good news to the supporters of the club as they go through this season in the UEFA Champions League and Carabao Cup, as they will need depth in their squad to compete in these competitions
