Lyon Reject Chelsea's Third Bid for Emerson Palmieri | Read

Olympique Lyon have rejected the third bid from Chelsea for Emerson Palmieri for a return to Stamford Bridge.

Transfer News expert, Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on his official Twitter account on, Saturday, January 22nd, 2022. The Blues need a left-back following an injury to Ben Chilwell during the club's UEFA Champions League game against Juventus at Stamford Bridge in November 2021.

Marcos Alonso has been used in place of Chilwell but Chelsea wants a substitute should in case the Spaniard gets injured.

Chelsea submitted a bid of £4 million to cut short the loan move of the Italian but the Ligue 1 side are keen on keeping Emerson until the end of the season. The Blues have been hit with a lot of injury crises in recent weeks but they will have the services of Trevor Chalobah and Reece James in defence, by the time the winter break is over.
