Granit Xhaka signs long-term deal with Bayer Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen have completed the signing of Swiss International, Granit Xhaka from Arsenal Football Club on a long-term deal.

The Bundesliga side made the announcement on its official website on Thursday, July 6, 2023. Granit Xhaka signed a five-year deal with Leverkusen which is expected to keep him at the club until 2028.

The Swiss International would not find it difficult to find his feet when the 2023/24 season kicks off in August 2023 following his four years of experience with Borussia Monchengladbach. He later moved from Germany to the English Premier League where he joined Arsenal.

He said,

"I know the league inside out and I watched it when I was in London. Bayer 04 is a club with an impressive history and ambitious targets. Above all, I see it as a club with a great future. Discussions with the management have been incredibly motivating. Everybody here is ambitious and wants to achieve something I am very much looking forward to the next few years."

The midfielder had 297 appearances in all competitions, scoring 23 goals and assisting 29 times. He won two FA Cup, and two Community Shield titles during his time at the club
