Erling Haaland sets a new Premier League record

SHARE

Erling Haaland has been writing his name in the history book of the Premier League since he moved to Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund.

The Norwegian international became the fastest player in the history of the league to reach 50 goals. Erling Haaland achieved this feat in the Premier League game against Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, November 25, 2023.

Haaland beat Andrew Cole (65), Allan Shearer (66), and Rudd Van Nistelrooy (68) while both past and present Liverpool players Fernando Torres and Mohamed Salah completed the list with 72 games. The 23-year-old has now scored against 20 of the 21 opposing sides he's faced in the Premier League with the only exception being Brentford.

Manchester City also extended their unbeaten run in the league to 51 when leading at halftime (W48 D3), while Liverpool have rescued at least a point from each of their last four league games when trailing at the break (W2 D2), winning their two such fixtures this term.
