Chelsea leads transfer race for key player over Man United

Chelsea FC according to recent reports have beat Man United and are on the verge of signing the club's top June 2025 transfer target.
Following an impressive Conference League final win over Real Betis, reports indicate that the champions Chelsea are already making key moves ahead of the June 2025 transfer window as they are on the verge of completing the signing of Man United, Liam Delap.
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca coached Delap for a season while together at Manchester City and has hailed the striker as 'fantastic'.
The Stamford Bridge were hopeful their coach's influence could give them the edge in persuading Delap to join them ahead of the competition.
Delap scored 12 league goals this season and is due to be named in Lee Carsley's squad for the European U21 Championships in Slovakia next month.
Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna said, ‘It looks more likely than not that he will move on this summer, and he has interest from pretty much every club in the league, and I don't think there are many clubs in the world who wouldn't want to have him. Nothing is sorted, nothing is done or completed or even very, very, very close, so that process will take its course.’
