Chelsea release statement on Christopher Nkunku's injury
Chelsea Football Club have released an official statement concerning the injury of Christopher Nkunku.
The French forward player picked up a knee injury in the Blues' final pre-season game against Borussia Dortmund ahead of the 2023/24 season. According to the club's statement, Christopher Nkunku will be ruled out for an extended period that was initially envisaged.
Nkunku has sustained a knee injury which will rule the forward out for an extended period. The 25-year-old has undergone an operation and will now begin a rehabilitation program with the club's medical department.
Nkunku signed a six-year deal with the Blues which is expected to keep him at the club until the summer of 2029. He scored 35 goals in all competitions during the 2021/22 campaign and was named Bundesliga Player of the Season and German PFA Player of the Season.
