Chelsea FC reportedly agrees deal for a top defender

Chelsea Football Club have reportedly found a replacement for Wesley Fofana who has been ruled out for most of the 2023/24 football season.

The Athletic confirmed that Chelsea have reached an agreement in principle with Monaco for Axel Disasi. The Blues are said to have agreed on a deal for the French international defender worth €45million.

Chelsea are in desperate need to fill the void that will be left by Fofana, so the signing of the Disasi as the right center-back will be a big boost for the team going into next season.

The defender joined Monaco from Reims in 2020 for €13million, after spending four years at Reims coming through the academy at Paris FC.

He was part of the France squad at the 2022 World Cup and made three appearances in Qatar.
