Ahead of the highly anticipated Juventus vs Galatasaray Champions League fixture, Victor Osimhen has revealed why he didn't join the Serie A giants.

In an explosive interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport ahead of Galatasaray's highly anticipated Champions League clash with Juventus, Victor Osimhen has revealed just how close he came to wearing the famous Bianconeri stripes.

The Nigerian superstar, who is currently flourishing in Turkey after a dramatic exit from Napoli, didn't hold back when discussing the friction that defined his final months in Italy and the blockbuster transfer that never was.

Osimhen's departure from Napoli was anything but smooth. After leading the club to a historic Scudetto in 2023, the relationship between the striker and the club hierarchy, specifically President Aurelio De Laurentiis, soured significantly.

"We had a gentleman's agreement that I could leave during the summer break, but the promise was not fully kept," Osimhen stated. He described a period of intense frustration, claiming the club tried to force him into moves he didn't want. "They treated me like a dog. Go here, go there... I am not a puppet."

The most shocking revelation came when Osimhen confirmed that Juventus, Napoli’s fiercest rivals, made a serious play for his signature. While transfer rumours have swirled for years, this is the first time the player has confirmed direct contact.

"I could have joined Juventus, yes. Juve wanted to sign me... but Napoli president De Laurentiis didn't want to sell me to Juventus."

Despite the rivalry between the two clubs, Osimhen showed immense respect for the Turin giants. "For sure, Juventus are a top club. When Juventus call you, you listen," he told Gazzetta.
