#BREARS: Brentford's Bees Sting Arsenal in Opening Premier League Fixture
Arsenal got their Premier League season started underway as they travel to West London to take on newly-promoted Brentford. The Gunners went into the game with a few problems; they were without forwards Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who were both out because of illness. It was the first top-flight game for Brentford in 74 years and they needed to make a statement at the Community stadium.

The Gunners dominated the first 10 minutes of the game, but the first real chance went to the home side when Brain Mbuemo hits a shot from a tight angle onto the outside of the post.
The first goal of the new season came in the 22nd minute from Sergi Canos, who put Brentford ahead against Arsenal. Canos cut inside and fires a low shot through the legs of Calum Chambers and past Bernd Leno. The home fans were all on their feet when Mbuemo created another chance in the 27th minute, but could not take advantage to double the lead.
It went from bad to worse for Arsenal in the remaining minutes of the first half, as all the chances went to Brentford, but the home team could not take their chances. The first half ended 1-0 in favor of the newly-promoted side.

The second half started just as the same for Arsenal as the first real chance of the half fell to Brentford in the 70th minute, but Mbuemo could not find the back of the net to extend the lead. The stadium went erupt in the 77th minute when Mari failed to deal with a loose ball which fell to Norgaard who heads the ball into Arsenal's net.
Arsenal created a chance in the 84th minute, but Pepe's shot was denied by Raya. There wasn't any more chance created in the remaining part of the game. The match ended 2-0 in favor of the Bees.
Arsenal plays Chelsea next, while Brentford plays Crystal Palace.
