Brazil's football legend, Pele, has confirmed that he is recovering from the surgery he had to remove a tumor from his colon. The three-time World Cup winner on Monday, September 6th, 2021 posted on his Instagram account he was undergoing surgery.

The football legend confirmed on his Instagram account on Thursday, September 9th, 2021, that he is recovering well from the surgery. He also used the opportunity to send his affection, love, and prayers to Brazilian singer Roberto Carlos who lost his son Dudu Braga, aged 52, after battling cancer.

I'm recovering well, but today I want to send all my affection, love and prayers to my great friend Roberto Carlos. I wish that God would comfort your heart and that you be surrounded by care and light.

Pele was part of the Brazilian national team that won the FIFA World Cup in 1958, 1962, and 1970. The Brazilian has officially scored 757 career goals, leaving him behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Josef Bican on the all-time list.
