The club's manager, Mikel Arteta, confirmed to Sky Sports on Sunday, August 22nd, 2021 after the game against Chelsea, that nine of his first-team players have tested positive to Covid-19 since the start of the new season.

It's really challenging, the majority are senior players. We put out there a team that would probably be unprecedented in the history of the club. But credit to the boys, how they are trying, the passion they are trying to bring to the team.

They are playing with a lot of courage; they are trying their best. At the moment, it is not enough to win football matches.

When he was asked about the possibility of Ben White returning for the game against Manchester City, he said,

'' I don't think so''

The Gunners will be without Thomas Partey, Eddie Nketiah, and Alexandre Lacazette against Chelsea, but there is no news yet about the possibility of the players available for the game against Manchester City.

Arsenal has lost their first two games of the Premier League season and is yet to score a goal. This is the first time the Gunners are having to experience this phase.
