Ban Piende narrated the tale of an African girl with aspirations of becoming a professional dancer, against her parent’s wishes. However, she ends up convincing her parents to leave their fears and preconceptions behind and join her to form a dance group. Beyond their wildest dreams, they travel the world entertaining and inspiring millions. The “Ban Piende” video is directed by Deska Torres, one of Kenya’s top video producers, with choreography by Raines Githinji.

The collaboration of TOMBO and Makadem was a partnership year in the making. Jimbo says, "I sent him [Makadem] a message on Instagram about my vision and at the time he was stranded in Denmark and could not go back to Kenya because COVID-19 was at its peak. So, even though the world was on lockdown, we still managed to work and make magic happen. That’s the spirit of TOMBO."
