Dotman Features Peruzzi on New Single 'Say No More' | Listen
Following years as one of Afropop's decent acts, 2021 marked Dotman’s definitive star turn with the release of Hakuna Matata, his debut album that found him tempering his talent's proficiency with a dedication to making music to soundtrack all sorts of occasions. That gambit paid off across the stretch of the project as he sounded both familiar and renewed, tunnelling into feelings of desire, thanksgiving, and cheerfulness.
Later in the year, the singer teamed up with hit-making disc jockey and musician, DJ Neptune, for “Drunk In Love,” a collaboration that saw Dotman lean ever more into the nimble flows that made Hakuna Matata a remarkable body of work. Over a jaunty beat that features maximal shakers and percussive drivers, the duo complements each other to a tee as Dotman operates in and around the song’s pockets to weave his whispery delivery while DJ Neptune gives his signature callouts.
On his latest single, “Say No More,” the singer teams up with Peruzzi to serve a delightful showcase that blurs the line between street pop-powered vibes and pop extravaganza. It follows the thematic base of being inspired by romance as the singer tells his attraction that he’s down to satisfy all her needs regardless of how implausible they might be. When Peruzzi slides in to add his verse to the flow of things, the message is at its clearest as both singers reach into each other’s world to pass their messages.
The song was produced by talented beatmaker, Young Jonn. Listen here.
