Nigerian hip-hop veteran Illbliss is back, this time with a full-length album titled Sideh Kai, released through his Gosibe Goretti label. The 16-track offering marks his eighth studio album and serves as the follow-up to his 2020 LP, ILLY CHAPO X. The Sideh Kai LP offers a thematic exploration that delves into sophistication, resilience, opulence, and class, all woven together with a deep respect for his Igbo heritage.

The album opens with Red Caps (Igbo), a powerful track that sets the tone for the journey ahead. It's a tribute to the Igbo people, their culture, and their enduring spirit. This theme of identity continues throughout the album, with Illbliss rapping about his roots, his struggles, and his triumphs.

However, Sideh Kai isn't just about introspection. Tracks like God Is God and Peace of Mind showcase Illbliss' lyrical prowess and his ability to deliver hard-hitting bars. He effortlessly switches between smooth flows and rapid-fire wordplay, leaving listeners wanting more.

The guest lineup on the Sideh Kai album is spectacular. Odumodublvck brings his signature smooth flow on Full Chest, while Vector adds his sharp wit to Successful. Umu Obiligbo provides their smooth touch on Chukwu Ebuka, and the combination of Cobhams Asuquo and Made Kuti on Spirit creates a unique blend. The list goes on to include Fave, Teni, Lade, Deborah Prest, Acetune, and Yukel, each adding their own distinct flavor to the album.

With its diverse soundscapes, thought-provoking lyrics, and stellar guest collaborations, Sideh Kai is of course a testament to Illbliss's enduring legacy in the Nigerian hip-hop scene. It's an album that celebrates his heritage, showcases his lyrical prowess, and proves that he's still hot with the bars and constantly evolving as an artist. If you're a hip-hop fan, Sideh Kai is a journey worth taking.
