Following the critically acclaimed LP releases of Boo of The Booless and The Brother's Keeper, Nigerian singer-songwriter Chike returns with a deeply personal and captivating third studio album, Son of Chike.

Son of Chike is a meticulously curated collection of 12 songs, featuring an array of talented collaborators who elevate the project. Renowned artists like Olamide, LADIPOE, Qing Madi, Amaeya, and the late Mohbad all lend their voices to the album, creating a rich fabric of sound.

The title, Son of Chike, signifies Chike's exploration of his identity and his connection to his roots. Throughout the album, he pays tribute to his ancestry, acknowledging his place within his family lineage. The introspective journey intertwines with his experiences in a rapidly changing world, resulting in a relatable body of work.

While Chike's signature smooth R&B vocals remain a constant, Son of Chike sees his artistic evolution. He skillfully incorporates elements of the iconic highlife music from his eastern Nigerian heritage, seamlessly blending tradition with contemporary sounds.

The album boasts an impressive list of guest appearances, each bringing their unique flavour to the mix. LADIPOE sets the tone in the soulful opener Unto You, affirming the importance of love. The late Mohbad injects infectious energy into the already chart-topping Egwu, while the collaboration between Chike, street-pop giant Olamide, and rising star Amaeya on One Day creates a powerful ode to perseverance.

The album delves deeper than its title. Songs like Someone offer a poignant exploration of unrequited love, while Balance Am tackles social issues, advocating for righting wrongs and seeking redemption. Chike's keen observations about human emotions elevate his music, making him a needed voice in this generation.
