Speaking in a recent interview with ThisDay Style which surfaced online on the 7th of February 2021, Wizkid was asked about how he manages controversies and not seemed fazed by it. Also, he was asked how easy it is to stay quiet and not respond nor explain himself. Wizkid replied;

“It’s very easy. Only a stupid man will go around trying to prove a point to the world and even at that, you’ll find that you can’t please everyone, that you cannot live off of people’s opinions. I think once you understand yourself and your true essence, nothing will faze you, people’s opinions won’t faze you. I’m just more of a private person, and I handle situations in that manner”

Wizkid was further asked about his plans for Valentine. The Starboy revealed he was going to spend quality time with his family and spreading lots of love to those around him on that day. He replied;

“It’s family o, I will be with my family. Valentine is about showing love, and not just to family but everyone around. So, I’ll be busy spreading love and positive vibes to the people like always.”

He also talked about how it felt working with Beyonce on the Lion King Album and how the feature has affected his industry credulity. He responded;

“Working with Beyoncé was a blessing. I like that song in particular just because of how it makes people feel, especially women of color. That’s what making music is all about to me, it’s the feeling. So, when I work with fellow artistes, I’m not so much concerned about industry cred. I like to connect with them musically or on a human level. You could be the biggest artiste in the world or an unknown rookie, I’ll work with you if we align. I’m really more about making real music than chasing hits.”

Wizkid has been very busy of late working on different projects from recording new music with Wande Coal to shooting the visuals for ‘Essence’ with Tems in Ghana.
