The singer might finally be dropping the highly anticipated new album in less than a month.

Nigerian superstar Ayodeji Balogun Ibrahim, popularly known as Wizkid, has hinted at a potential release date for a new project.

The singer, whose last studio album, More Love, Less Ego, released in 2022, didn’t receive the expected reception, is now gearing up to follow it with a new project, his sixth studio album. With a 2024 feature on Bob Marley’s One Love album and DJ Tunez’s Apala Disco (Rmx), which has become a crowd favorite, Big Wiz is set to deliver another body of work for his fanbase.

Having announced the upcoming album, titled Morayo, multiple times, the singer has decided to dedicate the album as a tribute to his late mum, whom he lost in 2023. As anticipation for the project continues to build, the Starboy Entertainment frontrunner, on Monday, September 2nd, 2024, sought to calm his fans' nerves by announcing what could be the release date for the album, or at the very least, a new single.

Taking to his social media page, the singer revealed that fans can expect something by October 1st, 2024, which coincides with Nigeria’s Independence Day. He wrote:

"On the day of independence, the truth shall set us free

RRR"

This isn’t the first time the artist, known for backtracking on his word after announcing a release date, has made such a promise. However, fans are hopeful that this time they will actually receive something on the promised date.
