Ubi Franklin responds to Spyro's 'scam' allegations
Music Executive Ubi Fraklin in his latest social media update has directly responded to the scam allegations levied against him by singer Spyro.
Nigerian singer Oludipe David, popularly known as Spyro, had accused Ubi Franklin, an associate of superstar Davido, of what he categorised as a scam.
During an appearance on The Link Up podcast, the Who's Your Guy hitmaker shared details of his experience with Ubi. Spyro claimed that Ubi invoked Davido's name to persuade him to perform at an event, promising that the 30BG boss would handle the payment.
Spyro recounted that when he raised concerns about the payment arrangement, Ubi handed him a microphone while the MC introduced his performance, leaving him no choice but to go on stage. After his performance, Spyro confronted Ubi about his promised fee. It was then that Ubi allegedly admitted that Davido had no knowledge of the arrangement and urged Spyro not to inform him.
Expressing his frustration, Spyro described the incident as a blatant scam, saying, "I have an issue with Ubi Franklin. He claimed Davido invited us to perform at a party with a payment offer of $5,000. I told him I don’t charge that; the least I charge in naira is N20 million. On arrival, Ubi rushed me to the stage before I could say anything, and after performing, he revealed David wasn’t involved at all. It was a broad daylight scam!"

This prompted a direct response from Ubi Franklin himself who stated that all the singer had claimed were lies and this was something he was more than willing to fight given what was on the line in terms of his career and his relationship.
Ubi took to his social media platform to express his distaste at the mention of his name. His post on social media read, "I will not allow anyone destroy my name. And please it’s time you all stop trying to use David’s name to make your story sweet or get people to pay attention to your story. Why would I tell David friend who is a growing artiste that David said when I know you have direct links to him, how does this make sense? I don’t even understand this at all and gullible people will believe ( I have never used David to take anything from anyone ) you want to use me to start your PR for the year, it’s not me cos a lot is at stake and I won’t let you do that. Pay me my 10% from the car you I helped you buy and told you to pay me my 10% you said I should wait till you finish paying, I know you have finished paying since December, kindly credit me the balance cos I have 5k dollars meant for you and you have 10.5m meant for me. If we do plus and minus by you owe me 2.5million cos 5k Dollars is 8m. Thank you."
