Tiwa Savage is charting a new path for her legacy after receiving the 2025 Forbes Woman Africa Media Icon Award, revealing ambitious plans to expand her influence beyond music.

Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage is stepping into her "mogul era" with big plans for the future.

After winning the 2025 Forbes Woman Africa Media Icon Award, the 45-year-old singer revealed her vision of expanding beyond music into business and education.

In a recent interview with Forbes Africa, Tiwa Savage shared that her vision has been a lifelong dream. Reflecting on her journey, she recounted how she developed a passion for entertainment from a young age and always knew she would expand beyond music.

“When I was in school, there were basic subjects like math, English, and then electives like sports, drama, and music. I chose drama, and even from that early stage, I knew I had a gift for acting,” she shared. “Even when I started my music career, I knew I would eventually return to that field.”

“I want to go into my mogul era,” she stated with conviction, emphasizing her desire to create opportunities beyond the stage. She emphasized that while she wants to help upcoming talents, she has no plans to sign artists under her label due to the challenges of managing musicians.

“Everyone always asks, ‘When are you going to sign an artist?’ I don’t think I have the gift for that because artists can be stressful. I could be sleeping and wake up to see my artist trending for something unexpected,” she said. Instead, she wants to provide structured learning through her planned music school, ensuring that young talents receive proper training before joining record labels that can support them.

With her global influence and a new award under her belt, the Mega Money Mega crooner is focused on creating opportunities that extend beyond the stage.
