Throwback video reveals Ceeza Milli's claim to writing Burna Boy's 'On The Low'

A resurfaced throwback video from 2019 has sparked renewed debate in the music industry, with Nigerian singer Ceeza Milli claiming to have written 80 percent of Burna Boy's hit song On The Low.

This contradicts Burna Boy's previous denial of using songwriters, where he stated that those credited as songwriters on his tracks are actually the producers, following Western music policies.

He wrote, Any name you see credited on my songs are only producers of the songs or featured artists not writers. But for some reason the western world considers producers as writers of the instrumentals and they just throw their names on there as writers. Nobody fit write for Odogwu.”

While in the video, Ceeza Milli is seen in an interview claiming credit for writing the majority of the song, which has raised questions about Burna Boy's songwriting process.

Meanwhile, the Grammy award winner had previously taken to social media to refute claims made by Logos Olori, a signee of Davido, that he uses songwriters.

However, the resurfacing of the video has sparked a heated debate among fans. While some defended Burna Boy's stance, others questioned the authenticity of his songwriting credits.

Lastly, the controversy has highlighted the ongoing debate about songwriting credits and the role of producers in the music industry.
