Award winning Nigerian singer, Tems has opened up about a chilling experience that she considers the most dangerous of her life, attributing the heart-stopping moment to her uncle's influence.

During an interview with Elle that surfaced today, February 2, 2024, the 2023 Oscar-nominated artist recounted the harrowing incident during a skydiving adventure when she felt compelled to leap out of a plane against her will. When asked about the most dangerous thing she had ever done, Tems did not mince words.

“The most dangerous thing I’ve ever done is jump out of a plane. I don’t even know how high but I went skydiving once. And I think for a second I was like, ‘Am I dying? I don’t know who sent me to do this. I don’t know why I decided to do this but here I am falling.’" she shared.

Tems went on to explain that her uncle played a pivotal role in convincing her and her cousins to take the daring leap. Initially excited about the prospect, her enthusiasm waned as they boarded the plane, contemplating staying behind. However, she soon found herself airborne, pushed out of the plane despite her reluctance.

“My uncle convinced me and my cousins to jump. I was like, ‘Wow! So cool. Daredevil.’ And then we got into the plane and I was like I will just stay in the plane and they said I can’t. They pushed us out,” she candidly revealed.

Tems' revelation adds a unique and adventurous chapter to her already illustrious career, showcasing the unexpected turns that life, and in this case, free-fall, can take.
