Spyro recounts being ignored by Davido and Mayorkun after 2018 collaboration

Nigerian singer Spyro has opened up about a difficult chapter in his career, recalling how fellow artists Davido and Mayorkun distanced themselves from him shortly after collaborating on a track in 2018.
In a recent interview with HipTV, Spyro reflected on the highs and lows of his early career, revealing how his remix of Funke featuring Davido and Mayorkun initially gained massive attention before quickly fading into obscurity.
“I had a song back then, and I featured Davido and Mayorkun on it. I thought my life was about to change,” the Only Fine Girl crooner recounted. “The song was everywhere when it dropped, but not long after, everything just went cold.”
He went on to describe the emotional toll of being ignored by the same people he once vibed with, saying, “I would call, and they wouldn’t pick up anymore. I remember sitting on my staircase sometimes, crying. I had my parents to take care of and so much wasn’t working out.”
Despite the setback, Spyro has since bounced back, carving a fresh path for himself in the music scene with chart-topping hits and a growing fan base.
